Russia is south of the Arctic Ocean and West of Alaska. Russia is in the north of Asia and in the eastern part of Europe.

 

Place

The people of Russia speak Russian. The tallest building in Europe will soon be built in Russia, standing 600 meters high, about 1,968.5 feet. The construction would be done by 2010 to 2011. It will be called the Russian Tower.

Russia is the largest country on Earth. The country spans over seventeen million square kilometers. It contains the world’s deepest lake, Lake Baikal at 1637m deep. Also, Europe’s largest mountain, Mt. Elbrus at 5642m, is located here.

 

Movement

Roads are one of the least common ways of transportation. Railroads are the most common use of transportation. Air transportation is common, but not as commonly used as railroads are. Waster transportation is difficult because the rivers run North and South, which is a problem during the winters.

Russia exports goods to the US such as Oil and other petroleum products. The US buys 50.5% of Russia’s gas export. Russia recieves 19.8 billion dollars from the US buying their goods every year.

People who live in in Russia have gotten worried because of the Cold War with the Soviet. There was a bunch of "We're going nuke you if you nuke us taunts" from both Russia and The US. Also, people were angered of their communistic ideas.

 

Region

Eastern Hemisphere, Northern Hemisphere, Europe, Asia, The United Nations. The Eastern and Northern hemispheres are both sections of the Earth. Europe and Asia are continents. The United Nations is a group of countries that try to keep peace and solve other problems.
