Top 5 sports are soccer, tennis, formula one racing, hockey, and basketball. The Soviet Union (now Russia) won the 2nd most medals in the Olympics. The Soviet earned a total of 1204 medals during the Olympic Games. They also have the 2nd most gold medals. Total, they have 473 gold medals. This is interesting because they have only participated in half of the Olympic games.

The first year that the Soviet Union competed in the Olympics was in 1952. It's final time in the Olympics was in 1992. The Soviet Union racked up an amazing amount of 1204 total medals during their years at the Olympic Games.

This is Andrei Kirilenko. He is a Russian basketball player who plays for the Utah Jazz. He has been the leader of the team ever since Karl Malone went to play for the L.A. Lakers. Andrei is a very well known player in both Russia and the U.S.A. He is a very important part of the Utah Jazz.


Luzhniki Stadium

This is Luzhniki Stadium. It is a famous soccer stadium located in Moscow, Russia. It opened on July 31, 1956. There were renovations made on it from 1995 to 1997. So that it would be able to hold more people and to just make general repairs. It can now hold anywhere up to 80,600 people.


Russian Hockey Jersey

This is the Russian national hockey team jersey. Hockey is a very big sport in Russia so everyone in Russia knows of the jersey. The jersey is red and has an image of a double-headed eagle thing on it. It says something like Poccha on it.
